How to save, back up and share a room plan
The editor saves locally on this device. A JSON backup is the reliable way to keep an editable copy or move your work to another browser.
Check the persistent saving status
Wait until the status says Saved on this device before closing. Storage can fail in private browsing, when access is blocked, or when the browser runs out of space. If the status reports a failure, back up all current houses from File & export. Keep the tab open until you have a usable copy.
Choose the right output

Send an editable room copy
A snapshot link contains the current room data in its URL fragment. Anyone who receives it can read that room. The recipient chooses to add an independent copy; subsequent edits do not synchronize. Large rooms may need a JSON file instead. Do not share sensitive room names or layouts through an untrusted channel.
Recover carefully
If another tab changes the document, saving pauses. Back up your current edits before loading the saved version. Damaged saved data is kept intact; recovery can download the original saved string in a lossless recovery JSON envelope (diagnostic data, not a room import), or preserve a browser-local backup before starting fresh. Changing the site origin or clearing browser data does not transfer your saved houses.
Publish a read-only 3D preview
Use Publish 3D preview, select rooms from one home, check exactly what will be uploaded and confirm publication. Recipients orbit, zoom and select a room without an account. Local edits remain local until you explicitly publish an update. View expiry, copy links and revoke them from the publication panel. Send editable room copy is a separate embedded link: it cannot be revoked, expire automatically or reflect future edits.
Restore your own backup
Choose Restore backup… to replace this workspace with a valid backup. Review the confirmation and download your current work first. The app preserves a local recovery copy before replacement. Restoration preserves all rooms even above Free limits; adding new work follows the current allowance.
